Paper Title: Investigating the Piezoelectric Performance of Ceramic Powders Using Piezo-Response Force Microscopy
Student Contest: Yes
Affiliation Type: Academia
Keywords: ceramic powder, ferroelectric, characterization, piezo-response force microscopy
Abstract: Piezo-response force microscopy (PFM) is widely used to determine piezoelectric/ferroelectric properties in ferroelectric single crystals, bulk ceramics, thick and thin films, nanoplates and nanowires. However, the investigation of the piezoelectric/ferroelectric properties of ceramic powders is limited due to the irregular non-flat shape of the powder particles. In this study, ferroelectric PbZr0.53Ti0.47O3 (PZT) and relaxor-ferroelectric 0.65Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–0.35PbTiO3 (PMN–35PT) powders were analysed by a newly developed procedure using PFM.
