Paper Title: Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Fabrication Using Tape-Casting and Screen-Printing Methods
Student Contest: Yes
Affiliation Type: Academia
Keywords: Fuel cells, SOFC, anode, electrolyte, cathode
Abstract: Fuel cells convert chemical energy into electrical energy in an ecologically indisputable manner and thus are a viable alternative to current systems. We have fabricated an anode-supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) using tape casting and screen printing. The multilayer structure was sintered at 1400 °C in air. The scanning electron microscopy analysis of the cross-section revealed no noticeable interaction between individual layers or the appearance of cracks at interfaces. We plan to test the fabricated fuel cells at temperatures up to 800 °C. The finite-element model will be constructed to verify the experimental results and provide guidelines for improving the performance.
